“…keeping you in the saddle”
The Pacific THERx “Riding Strong Conditioning Program” is specifically designed for the rider who is looking for an exercise program tailored to their needs.
In our “Riding Strong” program you will:- Feel stronger on the horse
- Become a more effective rider
- Lengthen your equestrian career
- Enhance your competitive edge
The Riding Strong Conditioning Program was developed to be a 3-phase program in a group format. The exercises, stretches and conditioning techniques are chosen specifically to enhance the particular muscles used in riding.
Phase 1 - Includes exercises to address the core, hips and legs to help you sustain a solid base in the saddle.
Phase 2 - Places a large focus on conditioning the muscles of the shoulder girdle, upper back and arms to enhance posture and upper body strength and coordination, which is essential for improving one's control.
Phase 3 - Allows the rider to put their newly gained conditioning to the test, in a dynamic whole body strengthening program, designed to target the muscles needed in equestrian sport in a more riding specific manner.
The Riding Strong Conditioning Program is a perfect way to condition before the season or ahead of a big event. Want to simply have a fun way for you and your barn mates to feel stronger, healthier and more in control? It’s great for that too!
Private Equestrian Sessions
Pacific THERx Physical Therapist, Alexandra Kalayta, M.S., DPT, a former “A” circuit hunter-jumper rider, understands that sometimes a rider needs specific training that can’t fully be covered in a group setting. Private sessions can be scheduled and include a quick evaluation to identify tissue and joint restrictions, muscle imbalances, and control deficits that might be holding you back. At this point, an individualized, client-specific program is created to optimize the areas where improvements can be made. A second session is then scheduled, to review and tweak the program. A third session, done in part or entirely on the horse, addresses enhanced positioning, muscle activation and coordination. This additional session will ensure that you feel strong, confident and ready to take your riding to the next level.
